The long-term health risks associated with asbestos dust are well known and in extreme cases these can even be life-threatening. Before the dangers of asbestos became apparent, it was commonly used in many garden sheds and garages and in residential and commercial buildings across the country. Because asbestos is now known to be a carcinogenic substance, it requires careful containment, removal and disposal. It is vital this is carried out by trained experts.

LEL offers a broad scope of asbestos-related and soft-stripping services and, with the support of a network of associated organisations built up over many years, we are able to accommodate almost any building-related needs our customers might have.

LEL do not currently undertake asbestos surveying. We would however be pleased to either arrange surveys on behalf of clients or to provide advice and place them in direct contact with appropriately qualified individuals or organisations who carry out asbestos surveys at competitive prices.

From the detection of hazardous materials to the isolation, containment and safe removal of same, our operational team will handle all aspects of the waste management process. Our management and recycling responsibilities incorporate full cleaning of all areas of the site following demolition, so leaving the site safe and ready for the next stage of refurbishment, remediation or dismantling and demolition.

We handle complex fast-track projects often in security-sensitive environments - with speed, flexibility and acute attention to quality control and health and safety requirements. We work with clients to minimise disruption and achieve speedy completion through appropriately timed and scheduled work patterns. It is also company policy to establish offices at key sites for the duration of major projects.

Luton Environmental Ltd. (LEL) is a family run concern managed by father and sons team Andy, Liam and Aidan McKinstery. The business was started in 2013 and, although still relatively new, is nevertheless long in experience. Andy alone has spent well over thirty years working in the licensed asbestos removal industry. As a team, the McKinsterys have accumulated over six decades 'time served' in the asbestos industry.
