    "From the first phone call (I couldn't hear what they were saying. It turned out they were on an internet phone) and they were grumpy with me for forever asking them to repeat themselves. We'd had a gas man come in to do an annual check on our 1 year old boiler and he gave me an all clear certificate. Unfortunately, the same day we realised our tenant had blocked our sink and as an emergency I called Speedy Jet plumbers - the first number I found on the internet. They caused a splash whilst working which bounced in to our boiler causing that to fail. We had to pay for an electrician to fix it (despite it being serviced that very morning) and they refused to pay up and take responsibility for what they had done. Their whole operation lasted approx 1 hour and I was charged £270. I felt uncomfortable in the actions of tradesmen. When they plugged their jet machine in to our socket it 'popped' yet they still wouldn't take responsibility and pay for the damage they caused."

    Trader reply: "We take our customer complaints very seriously. Following our recent conversation over email, we have spoken with the engineer who attended your property. He informed me that during the visit, he and his colleague plugged the aqua vac into one of the electrical sockets, which did not work. They then used the adjacent socket on the same outlet, which functioned perfectly. The engineer communicated to you at the time that the socket in question was not operational. Regarding the mechanical coring performed beneath your kitchen sink, please note that the equipment used was cordless and did not require power. Given the placement of the socket approximately one metre away from the sink, it would have been impossible for water to splash onto it. Since the existing electrics at your property were not altered or damaged by our engineers, we cannot assume responsibility for any pre-existing issues. As there has been no recurrence of the blockage, we will not be issuing a refund."
