Deepak - Image 1 "We got a shower tray and door installed. They were very nice until the payment was done and then did not follow up even though there was a leak from the installation and blamed it on a plumbing issue without even visiting. The silicone finishing is one of the worst I have seen and he refused to acknowledge it even after repeatedly pointing it out. The installer threw away screw caps and then kept claiming they never do it. There was one off tile when they had to remove some tiles during installation and despite repeatedly asking them to change the remaining tile in the row they did not do that. The installer talks and promises a lot and doesn't follow up with any of it. They keep claiming he has offered a below market value rate but given the work and the additional charges added after the initial quote it is more expensive. I would not recommend."
Trader reply: "On visit to site, I noticed they had already attempted a DIY which had failed. I advised them to stop and suggested a complete change of the shower cubicle, tiles and shower mixer plumbing . They refused to do this and insisted that only the shower tray needs installation. The job was awarded to me because of my competitive quotation & prompt availability to deliver and I completed the job within 2 days which list as follows: • Removal of base tiles • Preparing and fabrication of the base frame • Fitting and Sealing the waste / drains outlet of the shower after testing. • Assembly of the shower tray and cubicle frame • Tiling base line • Installing the shower tray • Grouting and silicone • Facia to cover up the frame • Clearing up Furthermore , I did advise them not to use the shower for the next 24 hours so that the silicone will dry and set. The following day, the client sent me a pic of the silicone removed.( this is only due.to the fact of using water on wet silicone before it set. To this, I offered to come over next week and redo the silicone finish and asked them to purchase the silicone as this is a labour only job. I have offered.to redo the silicone once again, however I am not liable or responsible for the shower mixer leak or suspected pipe burst. I am more than happy to redo the silicone for the client provided they purchase the silicone, address the leak from the shower mixer supply( as advised at the start of the job) and arrange a suitable time for us both."
