We are a local family owned company operating in Bedford and Letchworth who have been taking care of the motoring needs of our customers since 1997 and have experience and expertise in all makes and models of cars and vans.

We are members of the 'Good Garage Scheme' and are Trading Standards approved as well as being a VOSA MOT approved testing station, giving you peace of mind that you are receiving only the best service available from our fully trained staff.
Pit-stop Autocentre has been inspected and approved by the DRIVER AND VEHICLE STANDARDS AGENCY, with all MOT tests carried out by trained personnel who have been appointed and approved by DVSA.
At Pit-stop Autocentres we have installed a fully automated testing lane, which includes the latest testing equipment recommended by DVSA.
Listed below is a brief description of the different classes tested at Pit-stop Autocentres:
- Class IV : Cars (up to 8 passenger seats),
- Motorhomes & Mini Buses: 9-12 passenger seats & Vans up to 3000kg
- Class V : Mini Buses 12-16 passenger seats
- Class VII : Goods Vehicles & Vans (over 3000 to 3500kg )

MOT tests can be carried out up to 1 calender month prior to expiry of existing test (in cases of first test use date of first registration) with a FREE RETEST WITHIN 14 DAYS (10 WORKING DAYS). "Had all 4 tyres replaced in October. Sunday i had a flat tyre while driving to work and when i tried to change the wheel on the side of the road i found all the wheel nuts were way over tightened! Could not move with the emergency bar and when i got dropped off a breaker bar and sockets i broke 4 sockets including the locking wheel nut! Unacceptable this trader has obviously gunned everything way to tight. Now costing me a ton of money to put right. Would not recommend this trader."
Trader reply: "Thank you for your feedback as it's very important to us. We value your comments as customer service is our priority. We fitted 4 tyres via black circle to said vehicle, The wheel bolts were torqued to 130nm as per normal except the locking nut which we do not torque to the same setting they are just nipped up. Because they fail quite regularly, we advise customers to change them to standard wheel bolts for this reason. Only other issue is that this car type has tapered wheel bolt which can self-tighten over time. "A great garage that I have trusted and used for many years, however I was disapointed to find that their ramp was too small to take my van there for an MOT and I'll need to go elsewhere."

"Done full service on my Volvo xc60 at Pit Stop Garage last Friday and what can I say, amazing service and super helpful despite me being little bit annoying :). I was looking for garage for next years to come and I think I find one. Cheers guys 5 stars."
