General Building Company & Sons Ltd is a family-run business based in Marlborough and we provide high standard house and bungalow extensions for customers in Newbury, Thatcham, Upper Basildon, Pangbourne, Theale and West Berkshire area.
Our policy is to be a totally transparent company with good communication skills. We specialise in extensions, alterations and garage conversions but also carry out general building work.
We like to ensure that our clients are always happy and that their requirements are met to achieve complete customer satisfaction.

"I engaged Phil from general building to build my rear extension plus garage conversion. Phil and his team started Mid jul and were pretty much done by end Sep. Came back to finish off in Dec after other trades were finished. 1. Phil and team were onsite, ontime every single day. No stoppages whatsoever exceptng for weather. 2. Worked very well with other trades i had engaged 3. Always focussed on getting it right first time around (extremely well planned work schedule incl scheduling just in time material delivery). Very happy to recommend his services. I am extermely ahppy with the outcome."

"We highly recommend Phil and his whole team. From quote to completion - they were polite, friendly, approachable and the quality of work was carried out to an excellent standard. Communication was mainly through Phil’s wife Kelly over email who is lovely, helpful and kept us up to date on changes, timeframes and any unexpected extra costs throughout the build which was much appreciated. The build itself went fairly smoothly and we were pleased with how they communicated with our neighbours. We are very happy with our kitchen extension and recommend Phil and his team for any project without hesitation!"
