"This trader was contracted to diagnose and fix our heating system. He told us we needed £900 worth of work which we duly paid. He came, but after he left the heating still didn't work and a radiator leaked all over our bedroom floor. He would not come out to fix it, he made us do it. Nor would he come to check the heating-in Dec, when we have children and someone recovering from heart surgery-he got us to take videos. He then said we needed to spend £160 more to have it fixed and had to reply in 4 hours. We were working and replied an hour after that. He has £900 of our money and the heating doesn't work. We are seeking a third party to recovery of funds."
Trader reply: "1) The fault that your boiler developed 4 weeks after the maintenance on your heating system was due to a faulty part on the boiler itself, this was explained previously. 2)The heating system and boiler were working as expected post works, which is why the invoice was paid, 21 days after the repairs were carried out and you followed up with an apology text for late payment. As a returning customer you were fully aware that payments are only collected when the customer is 100% satisfied. 3) In response to the leaking radiator that Lee reported 6 days post visit, this was a simple case of tightening a bleed valve on the radiator. Appropriate advice was given remotely to rectify this issue immediately. An appointment was also offered if an unsuccessful attempt was made, Lee did not respond so it was assumed that all was well. 4) With regards to the £160 you claim in your review, I have checked the estimate that you maybe referring to, number 23082, - The actual amount was £132 inclusive of VAT and the materials, this was required to fix the boiler, unfortunately as explained the issue experienced with the boiler was a new fault and was not covered under any warranty from the previous maintenance works carried out on the heating system in the weeks previously."
