Pressure Washing
4 photos
- Image 1 - Pressure washing is a really good way to freshen up your garden or the appearance of the front and back of your property whether a driveway, patio or just garden furniture.
- Image 2 - Pressure Washing can really smarten up the appearance of your property. With this customer i simply washed their concrete slab driveway. I always find it amazing that so much dirt builds up.
- Image 3 - Another pressure Wasing job here. Really brought the paving slabs alive.
- Image 4 - This customer had a patio which was black with tree sap from overhanging trees. She wanted it pressure washed but with no chemicals used so it was. Water pressure only. The pressure alone didnt quite remove 4 years worth of ingrained tree sap but it did a very job.
Hedges

- Image 1 - Two years growth on a Leylandii Connifer hedge top levelled, reduced and shaped.
- Image 2 - Overgrown Ivy hedge line levelled off, reduced in height and width.
- Image 3 - High and deep Leylandii reduced in width and height. Notice the chimney pot of the house behind can be seen in the second photo which was not visible before the cut.
- Image 4 - Climbing Wisteria tree before and after. Autumn haircut being carefull to balance how much is cut back with how much is left. Delicate trees.
- Image 5 - A little bit of hedging in Leigh
- Image 6 - Finally blue sky. A lovely backdrop to trim a connifer hedgeline
- Image 7 - A little bit of hedging for a regular customer. A good quality tool will ensure a high quality cut and finish.
- Image 8 - Ivy Hedge to font of customers house reduced in height and cut back on all sides.
- Image 9 - Cinnifer reduction carried out for two customers of a semi-detached house.
- Image 10 - I look after this couples garden but a good hedge trim to the front was desperately needed
Lawns

- Image 1 - Customer had applied moss killer to her lawn leaving patches of dead grass. I raked and scarified this gead moss and thatch from her lawn and cut as part of bi-weekly general maintenance on this garden. Only issue was i using hand tools to rake and scarify so not to disturb my customers, clients at her 'Practice'
- Image 2 - This rescue job caught me by suprise. I underestimated it. Grass was at least a foot long all over. Needed strimming first then was cut 5 times. This was to allow it to dry a bit after each cut as it was holding a lot of moisture due to it's length. Bushes in beds cut back. Red Robins at rear cut back. All grounds strimmed for weeds and weeds treated. Produced 1500 litres of waste.
- Image 3 - This was a whopper of a job for me all on my lonesome. 4 sections of lawn...all about 14 inches in height due to the 79 year old owner of this property getting ill last December and being no longer able to cope. About 1500 litres of grass waste taken away.
- Image 4 - One of 5 lawns cut today. I also painted the summer house in the background for th ecustomer last week.
- Image 5 - The picture doesn't clearly show the "meadow type" lawn i had to work on here. Because it had been left the roots of the grass had yellowed. Lawn maintenance. Very important if you want a good lawn.
- Image 6 - Scarifying this lawn today. A bit late in the season so just a shallow one for the customer then will do it deeper at the end of the summer.
- Image 7 - One of my customers applied moss killer to their lawn then was stumped what to do. Lawn was lightly scarified then raked to remove all the organic thatch and moss. Then the bare patches were over or re-seeded. Next year the I will be renovating the whole lawn.

- Image 1 - Lots of fence to renovate for a customer. New cappings and repainted by hand for a lovely finish.
- Image 2 - Repeat custom. The yearly trim of the Leylandii. The height of this hedge cannot be gauged until you look at the garden shed on the lefy hand side.
- Image 3 - Nice connifer hedgeline. One of many I have done recently.
- Image 4 - A regular customer of mine had to have part of their house underpinned and asked me to create a bed which would not take to much moisture. I therefore created a rockery for them which is low maintanance and doesnt require a lot of moisture.regular
- Image 5 - Annual prune of an apple tree for one of my regular customers.
- Image 6 - I have been given this garden to maintain. It had not been touched for over a year due to the owner suffering a back injury. Job invilves whole garden including trees, staining the surrounding fence and pressure washing all pave areas. First job was some emergency cutting back to get the shape re-instated.
- Image 7 - Overgrown shrub removal as a start for this customer to renovate their outside space. Logisticcaly quite difficult as access was only via an alleyway down the side then then along the back and the gap to remove the waste was only wide enough to remove a quarter bag at a time.
- Image 8 - Large grass cut as part of regular maintenance of the property's garden. 4 hours a week spent on this garden from grass to trees.
- Image 9 - An example of how a god, industrail rated pressure washer cuts through grime. In this case removing 4 years worth of tree sap which had left the patio slabs black. I use a Kranzle 2160 Pressure Washer.
- Image 10 - One of my regular customers, am elderly lady, mentioned she had bought paint for her shed....2 years ago. So the following week i painted it and was surprised to find the paint was still perfectly useable. I also removed the wooden surround that the builders had kindly left around the conrete slab when they originally installed it.
- Image 11 - Hedge reduction of this introduding Laurel. They are definately tough old things.
- Image 12 - I visit this customer for two hours every two weeks. They asked me to paint a planter at the front of the house.....so i did, squeezing the job inbetween cutting the grass and the general maintainence of their garden.
- Image 13 - As part of a total tidy up of this customers gardens this long hedgeline needed a good haircut.
- Image 14 - Clearing some beds for an ongoing project for a customer. One of these will be an Alpine, hers and medicinal plants rockery and the other a vegetable patch.
- Image 15 - A little bit of tree work today for a customer as part of their regular garden maintenance visit.
- Image 16 - This a follow up to a previous post. My customer had been victim to shoddy and unproffessional work where inferior materials were used and trees planted in a weird triangular shape. Cheap membrane was put down but not even pinned and then coverd in bark which all the local cats loved. I have now removed the bad work and re-planted the trees, replacing turf where planted. Removed the membrane and bark and seeded with new grass.
- Image 17 - Many people ask me to remove or replace their weed surrpressing fabric.....because it has'nt stopped weeds growing. So here are some points to remember. If you choose the cheapest option it will generally last a year, will then need to be replaced and will not stop all weeds. Fitting is very omportant. Make sure it is cut well and pinned down. If you put stone/slate on top it is likely to attract cats who will scrape the edges up and make it look untidy.

- Image 19 - This garden was escaping the clutches of this lovely 90 year old lady. I was called in by her daughter to revive the garden. Today was 4 hours on my hands and knees re-discovering the soil in the borders. The hardest part has now been done with over 700 litres of waste removed. I will now be visiting ths garden every 2 week for general maintenance.
- Image 20 - A collage of pictures of a clearance and 'make good' job i was aksed to do on a small section of garden allocated to a conversion flat. Access was via an alleyway running down the side and along the back of the flat. Customer was extremely pleased as was in restoring this little sun trap of outside space.
- Image 21 - Another garden rescue today. Called in by the son of an elderly couple who are in poor health. Their garden had not been worked on for two years and the elderly gentleman of the house had been stressing and worried about it. Today was the initial clear, cutback and tidy.
- Image 22 - This one was a lot of work today. The picture doesnt clearly show how long and thick the grass was or the significant slope of the lawn or the several large dips and holes in the lawn. I will be returning to this garden but for this visit, the grass has been cut (4 times) border edges have been re-instated nad many weeds removed.
- Image 23 - Out with the old and in with the new. Customer's red Robins were not doing well and starting to die and wanted them replaced with something which will grow into a provacy screen hedge. Leylandii planted. Important to trim them every 6 months to prevent 'out of control' growth.
- Image 24 - The beginnings of restoring this garden. This lady had unfortunately become ill and her garden had not been touched for over one and half years. The start of bringing it back to life....large weed weeding, grass cut (4 times after clumps strimmed) and some edging of the patio slabs.
- Image 25 - Scarifying a lawn for a customer. Removing the "thatch" from the lawn is vitally important to allow your lawn to breath and grow stronger than weeds.
- Image 26 - This garden belongs to a lovely 90 year old gent who can no longer manage. First stage today was to give him back some lawn. All edged and tidied up. Patio weeded. Next visit i will be tidying shrubs and bushes.
- Image 27 - Large front lawn and rear cut every two weeks as part of regular garden maintenance package.
- Image 28 - Hedge trimming as part of general garden mainatenance for this customer's 2 hours every 2 week package.
- Image 29 - Grass cut and general low maintenance garden tidy up.
- Image 30 - Part of a garden clearance. lots of leaves! Long grass cut to Spring length.
- Image 31 - Garden had been neglected for two years whilst customer focussed on refurb of house interior. They wanted a clearance of beds and lawn at this stage. Next visit the hedge at the rear will be reduced.
- Image 32 - Small garden of a conversion flat. Bed cut in and weeded, general tidy up, shrubs shaped. All done with manual, hand tools due to limited access.
- Image 33 - Part of routine garden maintenance. Hedges trimmed back. Buddleia in the corner cut back.
- Image 34 - Leaf clearance job. 1250 litres of leaves removed. Will be going back here to work on the beds, rebuiding low level wall and some planting.
- Image 35 - First cut in a long time for this grass. Today was 3 cuts to reduce some length. Now the grass has to breathe and the yellow patches repair. Then back in 2 weeks for a top cut and mulch. Edged also.
- Image 36 - Before and after. Bi-annual maintenance for customer. Customer wanted 3 hedges cut backed, reduced and shaped. And the sun even came out.
- Image 37 - Before and after from part of a job i did today. Customers long planting border needed weeding and preparing. Strawberries re-positioned, Pippin Apple tree re-positioned to the middle of the bed and waste/weeds taken away.
- Image 38 - Yearly removal of weed surpressant membraine and bark chippings to be replaced with new of the same for this customers small rose front garden. Always check the soil once the membrane is removed. I prefer to take an inch off the top and replace with new before levelling.
- Image 39 - Before, during and after.... 3 White Beam trees pollarded for a customer. Reduced in height by about 1.5 metres also. All work carried out from the ground.
- Image 40 - Part of a general tidy up of a small garden.
- Image 41 - Summer house restained for customer after it was done previously (not very well) by someone else.
- Image 42 - A new planting bed made at the rear of some rental flats I do regular work at.
- Image 43 - Overhang of a large Connifer tree cut back for customer as it was constantly leaving a mess on their rear, sunken patio.
