Brad - Image 1 "The trader examined roof and quoted for resin bonding joints & cleaning entire roof/guttering for 1300. 2 men didn’t clean either, applied masking tape to lap joints then fibreglass resin finished in 4 hrs. Resin discoloured/failed in damp areas I questioned red crust not being cleaned and said I had managed to clean a small area with a sponge and water and sent a photo to confirm The trader ‘I apologise for the cleaning of the gutter… I don’t want to try scraping the roof as one false move can slice EPDM open and didn’t want to try with water if it had touched the fibre glass resin we just put down it wouldn’t have sealed correctly’ He deducted 100 from cost It is my understanding that all surfaces should be clean dry and free from debris before applying any bonding. Why didn’t the trader clean the joints and indeed ‘ENTIRE ROOF’ as agreed The trader does not accept he did not clean the roof I have photographic evidence to prove otherwise including loose debris that could have been swept away"
Trader reply: "We are disappointed to have received this review, If the surface of the roof was not clean, dry, and still had debris on it masking tape would not stick to the surface. Our photo supplied show straight lines where masking tape was successfully sticking. (If debris or wet it would not stick) Masking tape manufacturers state that if the surface is wet or dirty the tape will not stick On 14th October at 2am until 9am in the borough of Bexley Kent we had heavy continuous rain. This Customer has not complained that he has a leak after this heavy rain. We advised the customer it would not leak for the entirety of my guarantee, and it hasn’t. "Connor & his assistant turned up on time, to make repairs to my roof which were urgently required. He was polite & helpful, taking pictures of the work that needed to be done, & carried out the repairs to a high standard and at a reasonable cost. I would not hesitate to recommend this company."
