TrustATrader member Tony Vickers will be running the Virgin London Marathon 2019 - his first ever marathon - to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Tony Vickers of Vickers Garage Conversions, a TrustATrader member since 2007, will be running the Virgin London Marathon this year to raise money for the charity Muscular Dystrophy UK, helping them in their work to find a cure for the various forms of Muscular Dystrophy.
Tony's son Jacob suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. Jacob was born a happy healthy baby, learning to walk before his first birthday and as a child was able to walk, run, ride a bike and even roller skate! But he's now 22 years old and spends most of his time in a wheelchair.
Jacob didn't show any symptoms of this condition until he was about 10 years old, when he started to struggle in P.E. at school. Jacob was finally diagnosed, when he was nearly 12, with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (type 2E). His condition affects most muscles in his body including his heart.
Tony has a target of raising £1000 for his chosen charity. If you would like to support Tony's efforts in the 2019 Virgin London Marathon with whatever you can give, you can donate via his Virgin moneygiving page here.
The team at TrustATrader.com wish Tony all the best with his run; hopefully together we can help him to make it over the finish line!
