The British Metals Recycling Association represents the UK metal recycling industry, a global industry that supplies environmentally viable material to metal manufacturers. The British recycling industry processes a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, aluminium and copper, as well as recycling metal-containing products, including scrap vehicles, batteries, domestic appliances and packaging. With over 300 members, the BMRA’s registered companies process over 13 million tonnes each year; over 95% of the metal scrap produced by the UK. In order to gain membership, scrap metal specialists must demonstrate high standards and must have been operating for a minimum of two years. In addition, the British Metals Recycling Association offers associate membership for international members.

With its unrivalled experience in the UK metal recycling and processing industry, the BMRA protects the interests of all member bodies by providing members with a voice in the UK industry, positively influencing UK & European legislation, helping members to understand and remain compliant to changing market legislation and conditions.
