Fareham Council

Fareham Borough Council has worked in partner ship with one of its local clubs, AFC Portchester for a number of years.

The Club has many teams from u9s to adults with the adult team playing in the Wessex League. It was the first Hampshire Club to achieve a Community Charter Standard award.

The council has offered the club a lease on a sports pavilion and a football pitch as a home ground. The pavilion was urgently in need of renovation.

The club recently won a competition organised by Trustatrader a sponsor of the Portsmouth FC and AFC Portchester were rewarded with an offer to renovate the pavilion internally and externally.

Trustatrader approached the Council to do this. It was agreed and the work was undertaken by a number of craftsmen supported by Club members over the three days of the first May bank holiday.

The work completed was of a high standard leaving the pavilion expertly refurbished to the delight of the football club.

I recently needed some urgent work carried out on a buy to let property that I own in Stevenage. A pipe was leaking and threatening to bring a ceiling down. As I was at work and unable to get to the property myself, my initial thought was to look on the internet for a plumber. I used the Google search engine and a link to Trustatrader came up first on the list.

I found the website very easy to use and within a couple of hours a plumber had been and stopped the leak. He was extremely helpful and from what I can see, very competent and good value for money.

I am also having the bathroom floor retiled in the near future and have spoken to Trustatrader on the phone to arrange for a tradesman to quote on the work. I found them very professional and I have had 2 quotes for the bathroom floor.

I will always use Trustatrader as my first port of call for any subsequent work I need.

I just wanted to write and thank you for the fantastic service you've provided. You've been so supportive and helpful, which was a real breath of fresh air after the problems we'd had with bad traders. Also it was great to have a choice of hand picked, approved traders for the jobs we needed. I couldn't have asked for a better service - we were spoilt for choice with who to go with!

I think what you are doing is very much what ordinary people need. We need to able to trust someone who comes into our house - trust them to do a good job, to be pleasant and co-operative, to respect us and our home, not to rip us off (!) - and, most importantly, to turn up when they say they will! I had complete confidence in who you sent us, because I know there was the back-up with Trustatrader. Finally, the trouble we'd had with a difficult plumber had really broken our trust in tradesmen. But you were so kind - you made me feel that I was in the right (as I was!), and that someone - a whole team of sensitive people - cared, and was on my side. Thank you for that.

So, we've now got a great bathroom at considerately less cost than the original plumber quoted, and we will have a superb conservatory. And I can tell you one thing - next time we need someone, we'll definitely call you! Thanks again for all your help.

I am writing in reference to the above named organisation and in particular, the work they recently undertook (in record) time to renovate our clubroom. Russell Davis and Gary McEwen, along with their team of professional tradesmen, managed to completely gut and refurbish our kids club in one weekend.

Starting on a Friday evening, after their regular day jobs, the men came in, did a quick survey of the badly damaged room. The floor tiles alone were in a very poor state of disrepair and much more work needed to be done to overhaul the room in time, for the children to use by Monday.

The work was especially difficult due to the time constraints, foul weather and the problematic workspace. The fellas started early morning, finished late in the evenings, and managed to stay good humoured and friendly throughout.

I found the team helpful in providing tips, ideas and advice for the maintenance of the materials provided and would not hesitate in recommending them to any other company or organisation seeking quality tradesmen for any type of major renovation, building facelift or a quick room makeover. They even stayed behind to assist in the general the clean up and sanitation process.

They also worked well with our staff members and sociable with the young adults who volunteer and attend the club.

I rang the above company when I recently experienced a massive leak at the above premises. Upon ringing the company, the person at the other end was very helpful with such a professional approach. Within 15 minutes a plumber was at the premises and repaired the leak in 30 minutes.
